谷歌Android 8.1 Go认证关闭窗口延期至2019-10-31
We have previously reminded and posted (Launch Approval Windows) the deadline for requesting GMS distribution approvals of new device models launching with Android 8.1 running the “Android Go” or Android (go edition) configuration.
However, over the last few weeks we got some reports from you that there may be performance regressions in the Android 9 (Pie) platform code (AOSP) for Android Go.
After internal testing, and extended discussions with some of your engineering teams, we believe these regressions stem from some of the graphics improvements we made for the higher end devices. We are beefing up our steps to ensure such performance impacting changes are caught well in advance on the low end devices in the future Android releases. As such, we will be extending the GMS approval window for Android Go on Android 8.1 as below.
New
OS version (API level) | AOSP release | Approval window closed for:
New DEVICE | New PRODUCT | New S/W BUILD*
8.1 (27) Android Go | 05-Dec-2017 | 31-Oct-2019 | N/A | 31-Oct-2019 |
9 (28) | 06-Aug-2018 | 31-Dec-2019 | N/A | Android R launch |
Previous
OS version (API level) | AOSP release | Approval window closed for:
New DEVICE | New PRODUCT | New S/W BUILD*
8.1 (27) Android Go | 05-Dec-2017 | 28-Feb-2019 | N/A | Android Q launch |
9 (28) | 06-Aug-2018 | 31-Dec-2019 | N/A | Android R launch |
Note that the GMS approval window for new software builds and fixing existing builds is 31-Dec-2019. If you have invested engineering resources to address the aforementioned issue and launch on Android 9 (Pie), you can benefit in the future when you want to expand this device model into different markets without necessarily doing an immediate OS version upgrade.
